God is interested in the small details of your life. He’s interested in weather or not you’ve scolded your tongue drinking a cup of coffee this morning. He’s interested in weather or not you’ve got enough food for today. He’s interested in the clothes you’re wearing.
Mathew 6:26 : Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Sometimes we think God is only interested in directing the flow of our lives towards some distant future. The door’s He’ll open or the friends we’ll meet. But God is intimately interested in the smallest detail of your life. Not just the big stuff.
John 21:9, 12
9 Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread… 12Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.”
The God of the universe was interested in having breakfast with the disciples . He was interested in making a fire and laying fish on it and for the disciples to join Him in fellowship.
Perhaps we should adjust our perception of the God of the universe and be sensitive to His intense interest in our lives from which we will draw comfort.
Mathew 10:30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
You know what Mathew 10:30 literally means ? It means that every hair on your head as a unique number and is known by God. He doesn’t just know the amount of hair on your head but He knows each and every hair individually by it’s unique number ! How much more isn’t God then interested in your day, the second you’re experiencing and the fact that you’ve just scolded your tongue.
